Katya is an emerging leader in the next generation of young Australians engaged with and passionate about China and Asia. Having grown up in Hong Kong, Katya has immersed herself in the language and culture as much as possible. This has seen her undertake Mandarin studies throughout her schooling life and graduate from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor in Global Studies, majoring in Legal Studies and Chinese. During her time at university, Katya spent one year studying Mandarin at the University of Nottingham in Ningbo and the Beijing Language and Culture University. Katya also completed internships at Austrade in Guangzhou, Asialink Business in Sydney, Thirst4Water in Beijing and Opportunity international in Sydney.
Katya has also been extremely active in the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA), holding key organisational roles for their keystone HOME showcase event in 2013 and National Conference in 2014 and fulfilled the role of President at UTS’ ACYA chapter.
Katya has brought her experiences, fluent language skills and passion for China to Think Global where she manages a wide range of responsibilities including conducting research and managing clients, projects and marketing. Katya hopes to build on her already deep knowledge of the Australia-China relationship and lead the next generation of Australians building bridges with China.
