It is never easy to let somebody go! Firstly, with each new hire make sure they understand your company’s code of conduct. You can show them a document or even create a video that outlines the exact behaviors that can lead to instant dismissal. If you have a worker who is simply not performing, first go over their responsibilities in detail with them. Point out where you want them to improve and then schedule regular catch ups to review their performance. You may be required to provide written warnings in advance of discontinuing someone’s employment, so make sure you are not breaking any employment laws before you show them the door or you could face legal action.
