What does "Low Hanging Fruit" mean? Definition or Meaning

Posted by Bizversity

Let’s take this phrase literally for a second. If you were at a mango tree and looked up, you would try to make life easier for yourself by picking the lowest hanging fruit first, wouldn’t you? The same applies in business, you might want to sell something to your ‘easiest’ customer first, tackle the simplest target audience to market to and even chase invoices issued to your ‘best’ customers first!

For example…

You might have received special offers from friends running businesses on your Facebook account. These are business people trying to sell to the lowest hanging fruit first, friends just like you! There is already a connection between you and them as well as brand awareness. These businesses are also not paying for advertising as they are marketing to you directly as a personal connection.
