What is a Stakeholder? Definition or Meaning

Stakeholder is a generic term used to describe a person, a group of people or even entire businesses that can influence your company’s performance. They could be politicians, shareholders or suppliers to your business. They can have a stake in the business’s economic transactions as well as in its public perception. Their actions could have a positive or negative effect on the business.

For example…

A building demolition business has stakeholders, or entities that play a major role in the demolition business’s operation include construction workers’ unions, regulatory authorities including those such as asbestos and other hazardous material removals as well as local councils.
