What is Acqui-Hire? Definition or Meaning

Posted by Bizversity

Rather than buying another business because of the products and services it supplies, a company may choose to ‘acqui-hire’ in order to gain ownership of a skilled team of staff. This is also known as talent acquisition.

For example…

In the past, internet giant Facebook has acqui-hired startup businesses just for the talent within them. Google bought a company called Milk before axing its projects and putting the team to work on Google products. If you are considering this move, think about how you will be able to make sure the talent stays on board with you and ensure that all due diligence is undertaken beforehand to make the transition a smooth one.
