Alexandra Mills, 35, is the CEO of Product for the AussieCommerce Group, which was named Australia’s Fastest Growing Company by BRW in 2013. The business has over ten million members, employs more than 400 staff globally and had a turnover of $210 million in FY15. Mills has direct responsibility for Brands Exclusive, The Home, TheActive and pop.

Mills joined the AussieCommerce Group in June 2012 as CEO of The Home and pop, and under her leadership, revenue of The Home has grown more than 400 percent. Today, AussieCommerce’s homewares businesses generate more than $30 million annually. In December 2014, Mills was appointed CEO of all product sites within the AussieCommerce Group, which entailed adding designer fashion outlet Brands Exclusive and premium sports retailer TheActive to her portfolio of sites.

Mills started her career at the tender age of 17 as a professional ballet dancer, training at the world-renowned Stuttgarter Ballet and dancing with the Ballet Theater Hof in Germany. Mills believes her career as a ballerina has shaped and perfected her leadership skills, and the twirling days taught her the importance of discipline, attention to detail and team work.

At the age of 25, she received a place at the University of Oxford to study Modern Languages and Literature, and graduated with First Class Honours and five scholarships to her name. She followed this with a year at EADA business school in Spain, and moved to Australia to become a management consultant with CapGemini.

A year later she joined Rocket Internet shortly after its launch in Australia, before moving across to AussieCommerce when it acquired The Home and pop.
